Anger | Understanding & Regulating

Anger isn’t the problem—it’s usually a signal.

But when it builds up or comes out in ways that feel out of control, it can start to affect your relationships, your work, and how you feel about yourself.

Anger can show up as:

  • Snapping or reacting quickly

  • Feeling irritated or on edge most of the time

  • Holding things in until it builds and explodes

  • Feeling overwhelmed by frustration

  • Guilt or regret after reacting

A lot of people were never taught how to understand or regulate anger, so it ends up either being pushed down or coming out all at once.

In therapy, we focus on helping you:

  • Understand what’s underneath your anger

  • Recognize early signs before it escalates

  • Learn how to respond instead of react

  • Express anger in a way that feels more controlled and aligned

I offer support for anger using a mix of:

  • CBT-based tools to understand patterns

  • Nervous system and body-based work

  • Practical strategies you can use in real-time

The goal isn’t to get rid of it.
It’s to feel more in control of how you respond to it.
